My name is Nancy Robinson and I am principal of the new Ipswich Academy which opened in March 2011.
As a school which is part of the Learning Schools Trust partnership of Academies (Hampton and Twickenham Academies in Richmond, London opened in September 2010 and The Elizabeth Woodville School in Northamptonshire joined the Trust in December 2012), we believe that young people are capable of amazing things and it is our job to see that they are given the right opportunities, facilities and support to achieve more than they ever thought possible. Students are at the centre of everything we do. Find out more about our approach in About Us here.

We would like to reassure parents of Ipswich Academy students that vigorous testing has been undertaken by our catering operations and their respective supply chains and no traces of horsemeat or “Bute" contamination have been found.
Our main supplier, Pilgrim Foodservice, has released this statement:
"Pilgrim Foodservice takes its responsibilities for food safety very seriously and all suppliers undergo a stringent evaluation process and must provide full product specifications and nutritional data for every product that they supply. Since this particular issue was raised by the Food Standards Agency (FSA), we have worked closely with all our relevant suppliers to enable assurances to be given to our customers.
